Description

Enjoy a day in rural Perthshire here in Blairgowrie, learning about tartan. The course starts with the morning session talking about tartan design and giving you the skills to take away after the course to design and register your own tartan. We look at inspiration, and colours to create yarn wraps exploring colour values The afternoon session gives you a taster on weaving tartan. The loom will be set up with a generic tartan design, and you will then get to try your hand at weaving a small sampler. This will give you an understanding of how colours and design look together woven. Your day's experience is an exciting journey that will teach you a new craft. The class aims to teach you the basics of tartan design and weaving. For a longer session, please contact me, and the course can be spread over two days. We do the hard work as your loom will be pre-warped and ready to go. *With covid-19 restrictions being relaxed, I am opening the classes for 2-people at present.
