Silver personalised Pendant at Salt Way Silver
Description
Learn to make your own “Personalised” silver jewellery This two hour class will teach you the necessary silversmithing skills to design and make your own personalised pendant. Decorate your pendant with initials or numbers relating to a loved one, add decorative stamps to represent a special place or pet, make a shape to remind you of happy times – or simply enjoy adding decoration and pattern! See the sample photos in the description Students with no jewellery making experience are welcome, although this class does involve some working with small parts. There will be a maximum of 4 students and a lot of close support during the class. This class uses recycled materials for the pendant – scraps of left over silver are shaped, forged, filed and polished into very individual parts of the pendant. A hammered finish or some decorative stamping will add your individuality to the piece. Some drilling and polishing will finish it off ready to be connected to a chain or neck cord. You can choose from a variety of shapes and sizes for your pendant design, therefore you only pay for the weight of the silver you use. You will learn to use tools to cut, bend, texture, solder and polish silver wire and sheet in our fully functioning Droitwich workshop. No previous experience is needed (just reasonable eyesight and hand/eye coordination)and we guarantee a successful and enjoyable time. Bring along friends or simply treat yourself, and enjoy time spent learning a new skill. Complimentary refreshments will be offered. There is parking, outdoor seating and a downstairs loo.

Maker
Hi. My name is Jonathan Kettle. I love to teach people how to make their own silver jewellery! I run evening classes, 1:1 sessions, weekday classes and a very popular beginners class - the cake, coffee and cosy studio are important, but my main aim is for you to enjoy to the experience, and for you to leave at the end of the day with your own handmade silver jewellery piece. Some course dates are listed on this site but please contact me if you can't see a suitable one. Welcome!
