Silver jewellery casting day with Beccy Gillatt in Northamptonshire!
Description
On this one day course you will use a different range of items to experiment with making moulds from delft sand and cuttlefish. You’ll learn how to: – create a top pouting mould in delft and cuttlefish – create a side pouring mould in sand – create a single delft mould for multiple pieces – add bails and fixings to your castings – create details in the sand moulds using stamps – clean up your castings The forms that you cast can be created into pendants, earrings or charms. Silver is in addition to the course fee. Please do bring your own if you would like. Old silver jewellery and silver off cuts can also be used so a great way to recycle. Suitable for total beginners and those with some experience Bespoke course dates are also available for 1:1, 1:2 or group bookings at Beccy's teaching studio in Northamptonshire, your own club venue or home. Suitable for hen parties, special events, birthday celebrations and everything in between.
What's included in the price?
Materials are in addition to the course fee and will be approx £15-£30 depending on your design and cast sizes. After completing the course Beccy offers online support and guidance as well as links to Facebook tutorials, for those who would like to continue making at home. Your work will also feature on Beccy's Instagram and Facebook page.

Maker
I was interested in making and designing from a very early age and developed my first jewellery range in 2000. I then discovered my love for teaching in 2004 and have been developing my courses ever since. I have a home teaching studio for 1:1 & 1:2 sessions and in 2017 I set up a teaching studio at Yardley Arts where I can teach up to 11 learners. Qualifications: BA in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery from BCUC and MA Royal College of Art Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.
