Description
Join me at my home in Market Drayton for a full day learning or developing silk painting techniques. For those new to silk painting I start with showing you the equipment we will be using. We first create a small piece of silk painting on an embroidery hoop or small frame trialling using Gutta to create marks and applying silk paints and salt. Once we have mastered the basics we progress to our main piece. I have a collection of designs you can use or you can create your own design. I will show you how to transfer your design onto the silk. After a coffee we start to use the paints to create your picture. I help you every step of the way.
What's included in the price?
Everything you need to create a silk picture. Tea and coffee. I provide all equipment. Bring your own lunch. Just wear old clothes or bring an apron.

Maker
Hello, I retired from teaching 7 years ago and started to develop my arty side. I worked in watercolour and acrylics attending numerous workshops to develop my art skills. Two / three years ago I stumbled on Craftcourses and booked a silk painting course and I loved it. Silk painting then became my preferred art form. I then discovered batik using hot wax. Some of my silk paintings I go on to embellish with stitching and appliqué. I am passionate about my art and now run workshops, exhibit my work and sell my work through artisan markets. Many of my works have been printed to make greetings cards.
