Description
Two days in the wonderful Highlands of Scotland (north of Fort William, on the road to Skye). You will learn some of the basic techniques of silk painting, and by the end of the two days take your own scarf away with you. Participants will learn how to create a hand-painted silk scarf using vibrant Dupont silk dyes. You will learn some basic techniques and how to create many different effects. An ability to draw is not necessary, you can see various designs to base your ideas upon, or you may find inspiration from the amazing landscape around the studio. The scarf will be steam fixed so that the colours remain vibrant and colour fast for decades! We shall try out the serti (gutta) technique, possibly drawing a design or using water, alcohol, or salt effects depending upon what effect each participant wishes to achieve. All participants will leave with a finished scarf.
