Description

This workshop will cover all aspects of shoemaking for beginners. This includes: - How to design a shoe pattern - Shoemaking basics: tools, tricks and tips - Crafting a pair of shoes You will leave the workshop with a finished pair of shoes in a style of your choice. This workshop is suitable for those with no experience of shoemaking. Tools and equipment will be provided. This workshop will be particularly useful for anyone who struggles to find comfy shoes, as I will show you how to adapt patterns for your perfect fit. Please note that I do have a cat, so this workshop is not suitable for cat allergy sufferers!

What's included in the price?

Refreshments provided throughout the day but please bring a packed lunch. Please note that there are additional material costs for this workshop (£5-£80 depending on the type of shoe you choose to make; sandals can be made for approx. £5 additional costs, whereas a pair of court shoes would be £30+). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Full information about what you will need to bring will be sent to attendees before the workshop and I will be support you with finding the right materials. I strongly recommend that beginners start with a style of sandal, as these can be made without lasts and are the simplest to construct. If you choose a shoe style that requires lasts, you will be provided with all the necessary information upon booking.
