Enamel screen printing on glass - Coasters decorations or panel

Description

Explore the unique process of enamel screen printing on glass and make your own glass hanging, decorations or set of coasters. This half day course will take place in a dedicated workshop space in Studio 10, Manchester Craft and Design Centre, led by resident glassmaker Helen Tiffany. Helen has over 15 years experience as a designer maker working with glass, creating her own collections of screen printed glassware and enamelled jewellery. Suited to both beginners and those with some experience of glass making or printing, you will be introduced to the principals of screen printing and fused glass. Helen will guide you through the process of making stencils before printing your design on to glass using coloured glass enamels and adding raised decoration with powdered glass. Everything you need to create you own unique prints prints will be provided on the day but you are welcome to bring inspiration or drawings along to the workshop if you have a specific design in mind. You will have the opportunity to make either three decorations, two coasters or a hanging panel during the session. Finished pieces will be fired in the kiln to be collected a few weeks after the workshop from Helen’s studio or postage can be arranged on the day. This course is suited for anyone aged 14+, complete beginners, or those with some screen printing or fused glass experience (under 18s booked with an adult place). What's included in the price?

All materials and kiln firings are included, no experience necessary. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
