Description
This is another chance to take my ever-popular decorated letters quilling workshop! Due to popular request, the favourite quilled letters workshop has gone online! Attend from the comfort of your own home and set some time just for you and your passion for crafting. Quilling is a wonderful paper-craft, which uses strips of paper that are curled and shaped in different ways, and then put together to create gorgeous designs. It’s perfect for fans of colour and pattern and is a really relaxing, inexpensive hobby. This workshop will run across two dates: Saturdays 8th & 15th March 2025. (These will be recorded if you are unable to attend live.) At this workshop, I will show you how to create your own decorated letter design, in your chosen colours. It is perfect for beginners, as we take it right from the beginning, at a relaxed pace to suit you. In this two-part workshop, we will cover: - Colour choices & colour theory. - Making a selection of coils & shapes. - Methods of choosing your letters & outlining (you can also use the free downloadable letter templates that I provide). - We’ll practice on-edge quilling using heart shapes. - Look at design principles, different options and how they work, negative space, going outside your shape ad more. - Then bring everything together in your letter design.
What you will need
The materials are NOT included, and instead are available at my recommended supplier PD Quilling. You will need: Good quality quilling papers in your choice of colours - I recommend 3-5 colours. I highly recommend Japanese Tant paper, as this can be used for both on-edge and traditional coils. (If you already have quilling paper you could always just get one pack of Tant paper for the edge of your letter.) Cardstock for quilling onto and for cutting out your templates quilling tool - fine-tip is recommended. Glue - I always recommend the Original Hi-Tack All Purpose Very Stick Glue. An applicator bottle for your glue (recommended) & something to keep your glue tipped up (I will explain more at the workshop!) An acrylic brush (recommended). Tweezers (recommended). Scissors (any small pair will do). Frames to display your finished design are readily available from Hobbycraft, both in-store and online.
