Precious Metal Silver Clay – Charm Taster Workshop
Description
Join us on our fabulous precious metal silver clay – charm taster workshop, where you will learn the process of making ONE charm with precious metal silver clay, from start to finish. You’ll learn how to handle, roll, shape and texture the silver clay, before drying and refining. You’ll then be shown how your jewellery is fired in the kiln, and finish the session by polishing your charm. Charm will be ready to take home with you at the end of the workshop! (Please note that no torch firing will be done in this session due the length of the workshop. If you want to experience torch firing then please book a place on either the half day or full day workshop). What is Precious Metal Silver Clay? Precious Metal Silver Clay is a truly magical material to work with! It is made up of millions of tiny particles of recycled silver, which is mixed with an organic binder and water, to make it into a material which can be easily shaped, moulded and textured, similar to pottery clay. Once fired, the binder burns away, resulting in a solid piece of silver! It is an exciting and addictive process, so be prepared to be hooked! What will I make on the day? You’ll make ONE small sized charm. How long is the workshop? This taster workshop runs for one and a half hours. Who is this workshop suitable for? This workshop is perfect for total beginners to silver clay, or those want to refresh their basic knowledge. What silver clay will I use during the workshop? You will use Art Clay Fine Silver, which is 99.9% pure silver. Anything else I need to know? You may get a little dusty, so we will provide an apron for you to wear on the day. Please don’t wear open toed shoes or sandals, and ensure long hair is tied back. How many students are there per class? There is a maximum of five students per class. If you are wanting to book a private class or group booking please get in touch.
What's included in the price?
The cost of the workshop includes 4 grams of silver clay, ONE jump ring, use of tools on day, and an organza pouch for your pendant.
