Description
Hello & welcome to my Pottery Classes listing. Please read carefully what your classes will involve. I have tried to put as much detail as I can so you can easily decide if it’s for you or not. Please wear warm clothing that you don’t mind getting messy and if you want to have a go at throwing on the potters wheel short nails are best. Pottery classes in Greasby, Wirral The cost of the course is for 5 consecutive weeks of classes, the 6th class is saved to return and glaze your work. The 6 weeks begin with your first booked class. After your fifth session all your work will be bisque fired which can take several weeks so you save your 6th session to return and decorate/glaze your work. Classes are Mondays 2-5pm & 6- 9pm, 1/2 hour clearing up time is included in the 3 hours, so making time is 2 hours 30 mins. Times can be flexible if you need an earlier or later start. Classes are to help you develop your clay skills. We have Pottery Wheels, Slab Roller, Coilers, everything to take the hard work out of working with clay so you can get on with creating. You will learn the basic making methods of pinch pots, coiling and slab work and finally using the potters wheel. Once you have the basic skills we use underglaze/slips and glazes to decorate your pieces. The main aim is to help students achieve success as soon as possible by sharing knowledge and tips. Clay has a real therapeutic quality and helps the mind switch off from everyday pressures and we learn to just play again, it's also very addictive. The learning never ends but that's the joy of clay
