Description
This one day course will take you through all three popular pottery techniques (i.e. coiling, slab building and pot throwing) giving you an excellent, all round introduction to pottery. During the day you will make either a coiled fairy house, bowl, pot or planter, then you will build a slabbed vase or tealight holder then, finally, throw your very own pot on one of our potter's wheels. If time permits, you could also have a go at pinching a set of dishes or making a delightful little figure, sculpture or bird. All of the pieces made during the day will be dried, fired then available for collection approximately two weeks later. If you would like to glaze your work, simply join any drop-in general session at the studio (charged per session). There will be a short break for lunch so you will need to bring a packed lunch. You will need to wear comfortable shoes and warm, old clothes suitable for working in a pottery studio. Please bring a hand towel and apron.
What's included in the price?
You will make approx. three hand built pots plus one wheel thrown pot. All pots will be fired once dried.
