Potters Wheel Taster Experience in the North Cotswolds
Description
Potters wheel taster experience. On this fun experience you will get familiar with the potters wheel and learn what it is like to have a go at throwing. Suitable for complete beginners (ages 7+). Individuals, couples, and groups welcome. On arrival at our studio, you’ll be warmly welcomed as you join the rest of the group. The workshop begins with a full demonstration of the pot throwing process, given by one of our expert potters. You will learn the 5 basic steps in making a pot, from centring, opening out, and pulling up the walls of your pots, using specialist tools. Then its your turn to get hands-on and have fun shaping clay on your own potter’s wheel! An experienced tutor will talk you through the steps again and be on hand throughout offering practical tips and guidance as needed. Create as many pots as you wish of all shapes and sizes with unlimited clay to use during the session. At the end of the class, you can chose your favourite pot to take home (we'll pack it for you). You can also keep more pots for a small fee of £3 each. Let them dry naturally at home and paint them if you wish!

FAQs
Free on-street parking is available on the High Street or a short walk from the studio.
Our minimum age is 7+ years for our potter’s wheel workshops. We ask that under 16s are supervised at all times by their parent or guardian while at the studio.
Pottery is a messy business - please wear clothes you don't mind getting a little clay splattered along with suitable footwear, (the clay doesn’t stain and will wash easily out). Aprons are provided for you use. For health & safety, we ask that long hair is tied back and rings/watches/bracelets be removed before using the potter’s wheel. You may also wish to trim long nails as they can get in the way of your creative expression!
