This inspirational three day Plein Air Oil Painting workshop is set at Moor and Sea on Exmoor surrounded by beautiful views of the moor and a short drive from the sea. This course will provide you with all the knowledge and skills that you need to take your painting outside with confidence. Situated near stunning coastland and moorland this area provides the perfect setting. The course includes a thorough explanation of the equipment needed to paint outside ‘en plein air’, including how to adapt your indoor painting practice to the challenges of the great outdoors. You will learn how to select a scene, set up your equipment in a suitable painting spot and then simplify the image. Your tutor will demonstrate techniques to suggest the complexities of nature, allowing you to work quickly and expressively to overcome the challenge of changing light and weather. Painting outside can be a daunting and exhilarating experience. Once you’ve shared this experience with like minded people under the guidance of an experienced tutor you won’t look back!

Moor and Sea is set on Exmoor five minutes drive from the sea at Lynmouth, surrounded by stunning views. Bridget is an artist working in glass, print and paint. As well as running her own workshops in stained and fused glass she hosts courses run by other artists in oil painting, batik and Indian miniature painting. These inspirational workshops are held in the lovely airy art studio at Moor and Sea Holidays with beautiful views over Exmoor.
