Plant supports at FLOURISH, Bristol

Learn how to weave these rustic and sturdy plant supports for your climbing plants with me at Flourish, Bristol. We will make a tall support in the morning, and a rounded smaller version in the afternoon. If you want to weave 2 the same - well that's fine with me! The smaller version is for those windblown plants that just cant seem to stay upright, like dahlias, peony's daisies etc... We will start with putting the framework into a jig and then using some really robust weaving techniques to make sure it holds together....we start with a mouth wale and then move into lobster pot weave which creates a lovely strong spiral up the frame and is one of strongest weaves for obvious reasons and finished off with a knot at the top! The low peony frame is slightly different but is equally strong and both of these items add a wonderful new dimension to your garden, not only for the height and structure but also for their rustic and aesthetic charm.

I started wyldwoodwillow back in 2001 after weaving for a year or so... It helped me through a particularly difficult chapter in my life and I discovered that I had a burning desire to share the healing nature of weaving. I started teaching workshops fairly early on and weaving pretty much anything I could, currently I weave baskets, coffins, living willow,sculptures and create furniture and decorative fencing for the home and garden. My business is successful and I am a full time weaver.
