Individual full day tailored fused glass workshop in Faversham, Kent
Description
This full day private workshop taught on a one-to-one basis can be scheduled for any day of the week and can be flexible time wise within the hours of Creek Creative Studios. I recommend 10.30-3.15 with 45 mins for lunch but you are welcome to amend this to suit your plans. I am happy to teach anyone from complete beginners to advanced glass fusers and can provide guidance on many topics including introduction to glass fusing; how to use your kiln; slumping; draping; using frit; texture in glass; glass reactions and many, many more. If you have a topic in mind, please contact me via the 'message the tutor' button and I will let you know if I'm comfortable teaching that subject. For complete beginners, a private workshop gives you flexibility over your choice of day, individual attention, and an experience tailored to your interests, as you get to know more about the glass. It's a great way to start a brand new fused glass journey. All you need is enthusiasm and a sense of adventure! As the tutor, I provide many different forms of support including technical and artistic guidance (if asked) and ideas - whatever you need from me. The one-to-one environment gives us the chance to discuss all things glass, adapt my teaching to your interests and teach beyond the boundaries of traditional class subjects. I'm passionate about glass fusing and love to meet anyone with an interest in the artform. I aim to ensure my workshops provide friendly and supportive environments for all students. Everyone is welcome from ages 17+, provided you are able to work relatively independently and have reasonable dexterity. For children aged 16 and below, they are welcome to attend at the discretion of the tutor and must be accompanied by an adult (not participating in the class). Please contact Yvonne at CKJ Artisan in advance of booking using the 'message the tutor' button. Yvonne is an experienced fused glass tutor and artist at Creek Creative Studios in Faversham, Kent. Disabled students are very welcome. The classroom has disabled access (toilets and cafe require walking up a slope or stairs). Blue badge parking available on request. If you wish to discuss your specific requirements with me I'd be very happy to speak to you and will do my best to provide you with the support you need for your day. Healthy & Safety: Please note this is a face-to-face workshop. As I have an underlying health condition, I ask that students not attend if they have covid or flu. A full refund or rebooking will be available if this happens. I will be wearing a mask, unless you require me to be maskless to accommodate a hearing impairment. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask using the 'message the tutor' button.
What's included in the price?
All basic materials and equipment are provided in the cost of the workshop. Tea/coffee/soft drinks will be available on each day. Lunch is not included in the cost but Creek Creative Studios has an award winning free-from cafe and is also based in the town centre so you will have plenty of options for food. In addition, you can purchase specialist dichroic glass if you want to use it and you can pay extra to have your pieces slumped.
