Needle Felt a Herdwick Sheep with Felt fabulous
Description
Treat yourself to this relaxing and fun needle felting workshop suitable for complete beginners, as well as felters who just fancy making a Herdwick sheep in good company! Needle felting is a very therapeutic (and addictive!) craft. It works by sculpting wool fibres into shape using special barbed needles. The workshop is led by Amanda Smith from Felt Fabulous. A self taught felter with a teaching background, she will gently guide you through the wools, needles and techniques required to produce your own wool sculpture of a sweet little sheep holding a heart. British wools, including Herdwick wool, will be used, to first create the basic body shape, before adding the top layers and features. You will be taking home your felted creation and the needles you have used. This workshop will be held in the Art Space, at the back of Cass Art, a fabulous art equipment and supplies store. Located next to The Bluecoat Art Centre in Liverpool One, it is well situated for a browse round the shops while you're in town! Cass Art is step free and wheelchair accessible. You are welcome to bring your own drink and refreshments to have during the workshop. Easy access to public transport and car parks.

Maker
Hi, my name is Amanda and I have been felting for six years now following on from a 20 year career as a teacher. I love teaching workshops and seeing the pleasure on people's faces as they manage to create amazing things from wool, even when they have never picked up a felting needle before. Needle felting is such a rewarding and therapeutic craft and I love starting people off on their felting journey, and helping people who have felted before grow in the craft.
