Metal Clay Taster Workshop | Sedgefield

Description

This workshop is suitable for beginners with no previous jewellery making experience. The workshop allows participants to learn basic techniques and skills to create their own metal clay jewellery. On this workshop you'll learn how to roll and cut clay, adding different design elements such as texture, to create your own set of metal clay pieces to make into jewellery such as earrings, pendants, charms, or even brooches. Expect to make around 4-6 pieces in base metal clay. You do have the option to purchase silver clay on the day if you'd like to make anything in sterling silver. Please note that pieces will need to be fired in our kiln, and anything made will be ready to collect 2 weeks after the workshop date at the venue. During this workshop refreshments will be provided. Places are limited to ten people on this workshop to allow individuals sufficient time with Lindsay to assist with each project.

What's included in the price?

- On hand, experienced tutor/Goldsmith to assist throughout. - Enough metal clay to make between 4-6 pieces in cooper or bronze. - Use of tools and equipment. - Kiln firing. - Tea, coffee, and biscuits.

Lindsay Forbes has worked in the jewellery industry since graduating in 3D Design in 2010. Working in a variety of areas from retail to repair, she has a great amount of knowledge in jewellery design and technical skills in goldsmithing. Following her passion for designing and making jewellery she founded her own business; Laconic. Passing on knowledge and skills is something that Lindsay enjoys doing and creating a fun, friendly environment where people can come to relax, be creative and learn and so 'Bench Box' was created!
