Come and make your very own beautiful Bent Stick Chair. Also known as Bent Wood or Gypsy Willow Chairs, these traditional stick chairs have been made for centuries. You will make your chair entirely from willow, securing the sweeping curves in place with nails, an often overlooked ancient device in its own right! This is a relatively demanding 2-day course requiring a degree of hand strength and flexibility.

The Stick Smith (aka Dave Jackson) makes a range of beautifully handcrafted bent stick chairs, continuous woven hurdles and woven willow features for the garden. Dave began his journey in coppice and willow crafts in 1999 and has a long history of sharing his skills and knowledge through running a variety of craft courses and workshops at events.
