Make a set of stacking rings silversmithing workshop

Description

There is the option to make either two slim stacking rings with a semi-precious stone or a wider ring with added texture. All the rings are made of sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques. You also have the option to make additional rings in the workshop for keen participants. You can arrange this online while booking, or on the day with card or cash payment. An additional textured stacking ring is £10, a stacking ring with a semi-precious gemstone is £15 & a wide textured ring is £20. During the class you will practice a range of traditional silversmithing techniques. You will start off by sizing the ring, measuring the silver needed, filing, shaping the silver, using a blowtorch to solder it, adding unique textures with our collection of hammers, polishing the ring to your desired shine and finally setting the stone (the traditional way - without glue!). There will be members of the Noctua team at hand throughout this process to support, advise and teach you the skills needed while allowing you to make the ring independently. Those making stacking rings can also choose from a wide range of semi-precious gemstones on the day. This is a very interactive workshop but suitable for complete beginners, or people with prior experience of jewellery making. Everyone is welcome! If you need glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, along with wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit but please enquire before booking a class for anyone under the age of 16 just to confirm it will be suitable. All under 16’s in the workshop will need to be with a participating adult.

We are a small, independent business offering traditional silversmithing classes using both time-honoured and modern techniques. Our students are made welcome in our cozy studio in Liverpool, or at our pop-up workshops run at carefully selected venues around the country. We offer a wide range of classes, all of which are taught by either Britt or Andrew who are traditional silversmiths. We ensure all of our students are immersed into the captivating world of silversmithing regardless of experience.
