Jewellery Making: Stone Setting - Ring or Pendant
Description
Learn how to set a small gemstone into silver In this half day class, you will be introduced to jewellery making using silver and set a small gemstone into a simple ring or pendant. Local jewellery artist, Helen Smith, will guide you through the designing and making process. You will learn how to form, texture, and solder silver, as well as setting in your gemstone. Helen will provide a selection of 4mm gemstones to choose from, and guide you all the way through the making process. If you create a pendant, there will be chains available to purchase on the day. (There is the option of getting your pieces hallmarked (at an additional cost of approx. £35) This will take 2-3 weeks.) Suitability: Adult & 16+ Beginners and advanced, (Please contact us to discuss if a younger person would like to take part).
What's included in the price?
All materials and tools provided. Please Note: You will need to wear close-toed shoes and tie long hair back. A small blow torch is used for the silver soldering process. PPE will be provided. Book early to avoid disappointment.
