Introduction to MIG welding and metal fabrication for artists, Diy'ers and furniture makers

X

Description

Learn to MIG weld with Conan, with his 30 years of MIG welding experience. With a bit of guidance you're thrown in at the deep end and will be welding within 10 minutes. Slowly during the day I'll drip feed information so it's all relevant and hopefully easy to remember. Throughout the day your welding should improve and at the end of the first 3 hrs you could be load testing for welds with your own bodyweight. The second half you're free to make a few different items to take home. Learn about set up, basic welding and joining of mild steel. This course is suitable for beginners to welding and also may appeal to artists, furniture makers and people who like to DIY! We use top of the range Kemppi machines and Speedglas electric welding helmets. I have 3 machines and only 3 places per course, so you get a MIG welding machine each to weld all day and get in lots of practice. By the end of the day you should have enough basic knowledge to start welding your own projects. Thick steel plate, medium and thin gauge sheet material, pipe, tube, etc. I’ll explain the power and wire feed settings, gas flow and safety and machine setup. You're welcome to bring your own MIG welder down. Welding can be dangerous if not done with adequate care and we go over the dangers and how to avoid the risks. Please wear suitable clothing: jeans, sweatshirt, leather boots or shoes. MIG welding or metal inert gas is easy to pick up, and a strong way of joining mild steel. By the end of the day you should be confident enough to weld a wide variety of things together.
