This comprehensive course provides an ideal platform for (re)acquainting yourself with the fundamentals. Led by a skilled furniture maker with over a decade of teaching expertise, this program serves as a gateway to the world of joinery, box making, furniture crafting, and beyond. Throughout this course, you will acquire the following skills: Precise marking techniques employing engineer squares, marking knives, rulers, and various marking tools. Mastery of sawing methods using both western and Japanese-style saws. Handcrafted cutting and fitting of joints using chisels. Proper care and sharpening techniques for your tools. Immerse yourself in a day of hands-on learning as you explore the intricate techniques for creating accurate hand-cut joinery through sawing and chiseling. By the end of the course, you will proudly take home a small but impressive piece, such as a trivet, pot stand, or mug stand, showcasing your newly acquired woodworking skills. You will not need to bring any materials with you. Lunch is provided on the day in our cafe. All courses are on site in Martock, Somerset and run from 10AM to 4PM with a 1 hr lunch break included Minimum age for this Course is 16
