Introduction to Blacksmithing - One Day Experience
Description
Learn the craft of blacksmithing - starting with a look at the common tools used by blacksmiths and the techniques of the trade, and through the safe working use of a Forge to manipulate material. You will be taught how to bend metal and create unique shapes with the fire. By the end of the day, you will have produced a variety of ironwork all by your own hands and ready to take home.
What's included in the price?
All the materials needed for your course are included and I will supply safety equipment. Refreshments such as tea, and coffee will be provided, but bringing a packed lunch is advised. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or getting holes in – cotton t-shirts/tops, jeans and boots are best. Long hair will need to be tied back at all times.

Maker
Tom Robinson is an Artist/Blacksmith based in Suffolk. He studied at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford and has been specialising in metalwork for over ten years. Tom’s work is made to last. He uses steel to create long-enduring pieces, shaping hot forged metal to create natural forms and organic shapes.
