Fundamentals of Italian fencing - Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA)

Description

If you're looking for things to do in Worcestershire, why not treat yourself or a loved one to the gift of a wonderful day out in the beautiful grounds of an old Tudor farmhouse, and learn the historical arts of medieval and renaissance fencing! We'll cover the knightly art of the German longsword, and the fundamentals of Italian sidesword, rapier and dagger, as taught by the Italian sword master, Ridolfo Capoferro! We'll cover the theory you'll need, but this will be very much a practical experience where we hope to inspire you to get started on your fencing journey! No prior experience needed, come and breathe the freshest air and feel the sun (or equally likely rain) on your face. We will provide all the protective equipment and gear you need, all you have to do is turn up, have fun and make friends! You'll need to provide your own packed lunch, but light refreshments will be provided too. You should be dressed in garments suitable for sporting activities, i.e. trainers, joggers, tshirt.

What's included in the price?

Half day's fencing instruction. (All protective gear is provided) (Pre session warm up and stretching) 1. Fundamentals of safety (all swords are blunted/or plastic and blunt) 2. Understanding the sword (brief on each part of the sword) 3. Basic stances and guards for *select* German longsword, Italian sidesword or Italian rapier and dagger 4.
