Description

This is a home learning course where we will create a fabric sculpted hedgehog, approximately 11" long. This particular project is quite challenging and time consuming but such fun. You can complete this project in your own home at your own pace - it cannot all be completed in a day though. Stage 1 - complete the armature, add the fabric, add the spines until just before the head starts - you will no longer have anywhere safe to hold on to the Hedgehog so allow it to dry for a few days. Stage 2 - Then add the final spines and the features and leave to dry for another few days. Stage 3 - Then you can complete the colouring In these extensive step by step videos I will lead you through the process to create an armature, cover the armature in fabric and mop head and create the facial features. I then explain fully the colouring process. I will supply basic ingredients to create this project assuming you already have Powertex. Alternatively I can supply a complete kit of everything you require to complete this project. Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Powertex. It is a water based, non-toxic and environmentally friendly universal liquid medium; essentially a paint and glue combined, and it is a fabric hardener, used to create 2D or 3D sculptures. In the case of fabric sculpted creatures they can go in the garden once dried for 3 weeks however to be on the safe side they would benefit from a coat of varnish. Obviously you can go at your own pace and can ask any questions at any time, via the 'message the tutor' button should you need to. The videos will be sent to you via an email link and you are reminded that they are for your own personal use only.
