Handwoven fabrics - An introduction to weaving course
Description
An introduction to weaving fabrics on a Rigid heddle loom. This weaving course will offer a practical introduction to all the stages involved in the process of making your own cloth on a loom. During the course you will plan a design, make a warp, dress the loom and learn techniques for weaving a range of beautiful fabrics by hand. The weaving courses we offer are suitable for both beginners to weaving and those with some previous experience of this fascinating and absorbing traditional craft. This course offers a more structured approach to learning, patterns are provided and we will work in a methodical way through weaving drafts in order to gain a good understanding of colour weave structures. All course prices include materials and the use of all equipment required for your weaving, along with light refreshments. The Autumn/Winter 2024 courses will be taking place in Baldock at The Arts & Heritage Centre or at my own studio nearby. Alternative days/dates can also be arranged for this course, for example it can be booked over two consecutive days or for a small group.
