Fused Glass Christmas Party with Crafts in the Valley

A whole fabulous day of festive glass, with plenty of sweet treats, mulled wine and a glass of bubbly! This workshop is filled with all the sparkle! In the Festive Glass Party Workshop you will make an exciting collection of fused glass items. A small tea light (rectangular or Christmas tree shaped), a tall tea light, a trinket bowl or soap dish, four decorations – bird, star, Christmas tree, and bauble plus two pieces of dichroic glass jewellery. You may choose to keep your glass creations up all year round, or they can be brought out at Christmas to add extra sparkle to your home! This workshop doesn’t involve any glass scoring or cutting, just plenty of time for you to decorate your pieces with lots of colour and sparkle. You can decorate your glasswork as you wish using top quality glass materials and exciting decorative techniques. You will have access to a large range of stencils, coloured frits, stringers, bubble powders, metals for entrapment, stencils, glass jewels and much more! Your glasswork can be Christmas themed or suitable for all year round. Your finished glasswork will be available to collect 1-2 weeks later. This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of fused glass. They are enjoyed by art and craft lovers, beginners and more experienced crafters. Many guests come to experience new art and craft forms, or to simply enjoy a creative day out. Crafts in the Valley workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy meeting nice, friendly people! The Festive Glass Party is very suitable for beginners and children aged 8+. Young people must be accompanied by an participating adult. The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, perfect for pre-Christmas treats and shopping! It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.

I’m Melanie, I deliver a range of creative art and craft workshops from my studio in Cragg Vale, near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. As an artist and craftsperson, I enjoy playing with fused glass and textiles. I’m inspired by the array of colour and texture found in nature. I’m a fully qualified secondary school Art and Design teacher with a BA Hons Degree in Fashion and Textiles. A workshop with Crafts in the Valley is a special day out, learn creative skills and de-stressing! We refer to it as Creative Escapism.
