Furniture making and Cabinetry beginners course
Description
In this course you will learn the basics of fine furniture making and cabinetry, you will be making a foot stool with mortice and tenon joints, some by hand and some with more updated machinery. This is a one to one course, so you get all my attention! You will make the piece from raw stock,(either oak mahogany or beech or a mix of all 3 dependant on your preference or if its in stock) plane it up again using updated machinery and maybe we will use some hand tools should the inkling arise! The piece you will make will be tailored to your spec, so everyone gets something unique to work with to get the most out of the day. Please be mindful that it is a long day and will be fairly tiring on your mind and body so be ready and on good form to get as much as you can out of me! I will be providing safety lessons on bandsaws, planer thicknessers, bench grinders, chisels etc, and guidance throughout the day, giving advice and techniques where I see fit.
What's included in the price?
PPE is provided as is tea and coffee throughout the day and regular intervals. I will also provide snacks (dependant on what we have in at the time) but please bring your own packed lunch because you will need the energy! You will be taking your furniture piece home with you so be mindful of your travel plans, for example a car would be better but not all together necessary.
