About the Workshop: Our 'From Fibre to Yarn' workshop is designed to guide you through every aspect of hand spinning, including fibre preparation, spinning, and plying. This hands-on, one-day workshop is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of six participants, ensuring you receive plenty of individual attention. What You’ll Learn: For New Spinners: You’ll start by learning how to prepare fibres for spinning, an essential part of the process that helps you achieve the best results. After that, you’ll discover how spinning wheels work and try different styles to see what feels most comfortable. The workshop breaks down spinning, plying, and more into achievable steps. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with your very own hand-spun skein of yarn! For Experienced Spinners: We’ll help you refine your technique, tackle any spinning challenges, and expand your skills. Whether you're looking to improve your plying or learn new fibre preparation techniques, we’ll make sure you leave with renewed confidence in your spinning.
What's included in the price?
All necessary equipment is provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. We supply all the fibre you’ll need to complete your project, and there will be refreshments, including cakes, fresh fruit, and beverages. Just bring a packed lunch, and if you have any allergies, let us know at booking. Additional Information: Fleeces, ready-prepared fibres, and spinning equipment will be available for purchase on the day and through our online shop, so you can continue your spinning journey right away. We’re easily accessible by both rail and road, making travel simple from most major routes.
