Foraging basket weaving at The Garlic Farm, Isle of Wight
Description
Amanda will take you through the process of binding 2 hoops together and starting the weave on these simple but durable foraging frame baskets. We will use colourful and locally grown willows and material from the farm. With the addition of ribs to create strength and shape it does not take long for these beautiful nutshell baskets to take shape. Perfect for a walk along a country lane for a bit of blackberry picking or mushroom foraging... We will weave in the Alium Barn if the weather looks dubious, but if it is a nice day it would be lovely to be outside.

Message the tutorI started wyldwoodwillow back in 2001 after weaving for a year or so... It helped me through a particularly difficult chapter in my life and I discovered that I had a burning desire to share the healing nature of weaving. I started teaching workshops fairly early on and weaving pretty much anything I could, currently I weave baskets, coffins, living willow, sculptures and create furniture and decorative fencing for the home and garden. My business is successful and I am a full time weaver.
