Felted Vessels and Bowls (Wet Felting & Needle Felting) - York

Description

Local artist & designer, Wendy invites you to come along to her Felted Vessels workshop and enjoy a fun and relaxing few hours learning how to design and felt your own unique vessel. She will take you through wool fibre choices, construction and felting techniques. Wendy will guide you through making 2 smaller vessels using two different felting techniques, which you can further embellish with beading or needle felting if you wish. Having taught Art and Design for many years both here in Yorkshire and in Beijing, Wendy provides a calm, creative and supportive atmosphere in her workshops. You will finish the day relaxed and feeling proud of what you have achieved! The workshop includes all felting fibres, wire, and equipment. Just bring along some inspirational imagery. Suitable for absolute beginners and those looking to improve and extend their textile and artistic skills.

What's included in the price?

All materials supplied. Light refreshments are available throughout the day, with a break for lunch to explore the lovely cafés of York to eat out or bring back to the workshop. Each participant also receives a 10% off voucher to spend online. Please bring to class a medium sized towel, apron and rubber gloves if you are allergic to detergent/soapy water.

Founded in 1906, we are a family firm with shops in York and Harrogate. We specialise in haberdashery and needlecrafting materials and workshops, with an international reputation for stocking over 10,000+ different button designs. Our classes are held in a beautiful beamed room at the top of our medieval building in York and in the Yorkshire town of Ilkley in a converted Victorian double-fronted shop. They are taught by practicing designers and makers with considerable expertise in (and passion for) their respective crafts, and considerable teaching experience.
