Eight Week Weaving Course - Floor Looms

Description

What should I expect? You will start by planning and designing your fabric - this will be a checked design and we will be planning for a fabric that will be approximately 60cm wide by 2m in length. Working at your own pace, you will then wind your warp, learn how to set up the countermarch looms and then weave your length of fabric. There is a huge sense of achievement on this course - learning how the looms operate but also seeing your very own fabric being created with your own hands.

What's included in the price?

How much does it cost? The 8 week course is £640 for over 30 hours of tuition with Rebecca. The course will be on a Tuesday - 9.30am-1.30pm. Start and finish dates for the courses are as follows: Tuesday 7th January - Tuesday 4th March (please note there will be no session on Tuesday 18th February due to Half Term) Tuesday 25th March - Tuesday 20th May (please note there will be no session on Tuesday 15th April due to Easter holidays) Tuesday 9th September - Tuesday 11th November (please note there will be no session on Tuesday 28th October due to Half Term) When booking, select the starting date and you will automatically enrol for the 8 weeks as per the above. All materials are included and endless amounts of Tea and Biscuits! We suggest that students take their own notes but a booklet will also be provided by Rebecca with an overview of the course.

Rebecca Harvey-Browne, graduated from UCA Farnham in Surrey with a First Class Honours degree in Woven Textiles. Rebecca was selected as 1 of 24 graduates across the U.K. for Texprint, allowing her to promote her work in Paris. After selling designs to Italian Fashion House 'Etro', she was inspired to pursue a career in Textiles. Rebecca opened up her home studio to allow others to experience this craft first-hand and to make their very own piece of fabric.
