Description
Get started on making your own cool dungarees in this very comprehensive 3 day workshop. THE PATTERN IS INCLUDED IN THE COURSE PRICE. Dates are Saturdays 2nd, 9th and 16th August. The sessions are roughly 5 hours each day. Start by learning to read a commercial dressmaking pattern, adjusting the pattern to your own unique measurements, and then learn to sew up your garment. I am passionate about fit and about helping with bodies that aren't fashion standard, feel great in clothes. This includes making clothes fit your beautiful trans, larger, or disabled body. Of course you are welcome if you are a size 10 too. We will talk about bust adjustments, lenghtening garments, etc etc. The course is suitable for all people regardless of how you identify as this is a truly unisex pattern. We will cover wortking with denim, top stitching, making your machine not hate using thicker fabrics, using buckles and other hardware etc, although of course you may want to use a thinner summer friendly fabric too, we can discuss all of this before class. The class has a maximum of 4 people in it, but more usually just 2, so you get tons of one to one support, and you will learn a lot! This is a really comprehensive introduction to learning to work with denim. It is a small class and nicely paced so you will be able to ask all the questions and really delve quite deep into it all. I will talk to you about patterns and fabric when the class is booked so you will have plenty of time to buy all you need. *Suitable for anyone who can thread up a sewing machine independently!*
