At Cowshed Creative in the Lake District, we run an extensive range of art, craft and heritage workshops in our beautifully converted art studio. Treat yourself to a creative experience on our traditional Lakeland farm near Windermere and Kendal. From the fantastic and consistent feedback we have received, you are sure to have a great day! Drawing rural animals: Join us on our traditional Lakeland farm to develop the basic drawing skills you need to draw animals confidently . The workshop will cover steps on how to draw animals using simple shapes and lines, the concept of gesture drawing combined with observation and basic animal anatomy. There will be tips and techniques for using reference photographs to produce an animal portrait and advice given for observing and sketching your own pets. Jayne will bring along a range of drawing mediums so there will be plenty of opportunity to try something different and experiment before creating your own finished piece in a medium of your choice. Jayne Lancaster is a graduate of the University of Cumbria with a Foundation Degree in Drawing. Jayne specialises in drawings and illustrations detailing agricultural and rural wildlife taking great inspiration from the farming and countryside environment. As well as private commissions for animal portraits, Jayne exhibits and sells artworks regularly both locally and nationally and has run successful demonstrations, workshops and art courses in animal studies for local art groups. Jayne has participated in a number of community artworks including the Go Herdwick public art trail in the Lake District and creating a large scale mural for the Outward Bound Trust. The workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a converted Cumbrian barn on our traditional Lakeland Farm. The art studio is a stunning open plan space with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley. Make it a special break and stay in one of our luxury camping pods on the farm. All our tutors are carefully selected artists and craft professionals with extensive teaching experience.
What's included in the price?
£78 includes some great tuition, a stunning venue, tea and coffee throughout the day and delicious home baked traybake. You can enjoy your own packed lunch outside or by the wood burner. You will need to bring some basic art materials to the course. A list be provided
