Description

This course takes students step-by-step through the entire process of creating and honing a razor-sharp edge on a chisel or plane blade. I have designed the course with the goal that students leave the session with everything you need to be able to have a go at home, and so all equipment that you use on the day is yours to keep when the course is finished. On this course, you will learn the science of sharpening, then go through the stages of renovating an old chisel or plane blade - or preparing a new one for use - and crucially, if you attend this course you will take away all the equipment you used on the day, so that you can continue to develop your skills going forward. You will also be given extensive information in order to help you develop your knowledge and skill in future. This course is for you if: - You have some old chisels, and maybe a woodworking plane or two, that you don’t use because they’re not sharp, - Your new chisel used to be sharp, but it’s not cutting like it was before and you don’t know how to sharpen it, - You have some sharpening equipment and experience, but not enough to achieve the results you need for your woodworking.
