Description
2 full days of welding and fabrication: Following feed back from our beginner welding classes we have designed this course to help the car enthusiasts build the skills needed to tackle welding on cars for the first time. Whether you are roof chopping a 34 ford coupe or simply trying to get your Landrover through this years MOT. We go over all of the do's and don'ts of welding on cars and motorbikes, what to look out for, how to prepare the steel for welding, getting good conductivity. How to not burn the car to sinders in the process and to rebuild lost structure and get a car through an MOT. We also cover all of the basics of welding giving you the opportunity to give Mig, Tig and Arc welding a go for the first time, you will get to use professional equipment in an industrial workshop, under the supervision and guidance of our team of professional welders & fabricators. We have a selection of car panels, doors and chassis pieces that you can cut and weld to put the techniques we have learnt on the first half of the day in to practice in the workshop. We have been welding cars, vans, motorbikes and lorrys for nearly 20 years. We have learnt some valuble insight that we will share with you that can save you a lot of time money and hassel. Day 1: We will start with a very quick guide to the theory and then move straight on to putting down some solid welds in a mix of welding positions, this is a practical hands on day, we will cover welding on chassis, panels, footwells, firewalls and roll cages. You will cover all of the basics so there is no need for prior experience. If you can already do the basics, we will push your skills further with more in-depth and challenging pieces to tackle. Day 2: On the second day we focus on fabrications skills, with the focus on practical demonstrations and exercises, we cover: cutting, bending, shaping, rolling, bead & profile forming, making compound curves, shrinking & stretching. We then compile these techniques into the process of making a patch panel and welding it in to place. This class will cover the core skills and techniques needed to get you started on your welding path. It's a perfect place to start if you've not done any welding before or fancy taking it up for your own DIY car and bike projects and want to point in the right direction The workshop is fully equipped with plasma cutters, bead rollers, metal shrinkers, English Wheels, folders, guillotines, stakes, dollys and of course every type of welder you could need to tackle your car welding.
