CALLIGRAPHY COURSE for Beginners in Bournville Birmingham

Foundation Hand is a good starting script for beginners

Description

Calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing. Find out how to write with a broad nib so you can customise greeting cards or beautifully present your family tree or favourite poem. Beginners will learn foundation hand: this is the elegant and versatile script in the picture above and is particularly suitable for beginners. This is a traditional script and it needs some commitment on the part of the student to learn this skill. You must be able to attend EVERY week for at least the first six lessons. Please note that I do not teach brush calligraphy, faux calligraphy or handwriting. Classes are Monday afternoons from 12:30 to 14:30, at the St Francis Youth and Community Centre on Bournville Village Green. The course dates follow the academic year.

What's included in the price?

Tools and materials are available to buy from the tutor at a small cost. For example: a dip pen, a holder, and ink will cost approximately £15. A ruler and pencil will be useful. If you already have some calligraphy equipment bring it along to the first session.
