Description

BIRD SCULPTURE WORKSHOP Sunday 2 March 9.45 - 1.00 pm £60 including refreshments, all materials, use of equipment on the day, glazing, firing of piece, tutoring & certificate of completion. This half-day group workshop with our guest figurative sculptor, Christine Pike, is suitable for all skill levels. Starting with a simple thumb pot, Christine will show you how to work the clay to turn it into a lovely little garden bird sculpture sitting on a tree log. You will be shown how to add texture using a paintbrush. The piece will be approximately 14 cm tall. You will be offered a choice of glaze washes to enhance the beauty of your piece and give a professional finish. The glazing and firing will be carried out by Louise (ceramicist from Blended Monkey) and we will let you know when your sculpture is ready for you to collect (please allow at least 14 days). Your piece can be posted out by arrangement. The birds will be made from stoneware clay - so you can display them indoors or also outdoors as a small garden feature. This BIRD SCULPTURE WORKSHOP will be held in the peaceful setting of our Blended Monkey studios on the Cambs/Norfolk border. Numbers are limited to ensure you get plenty of 1-2-1 tuition. This sculpture workshop is suitable for 16+. About a week before your workshop date, we'll e-mail you again with more details about parking etc. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day - tailored to meet all dietary requirements. All students will be provided with a certificate of completion. This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post out to you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁 The half-day workshop includes: - Materials & use of equipment on the day - Refreshments (tea/coffee/soft drinks/cake) - catering to all dietary requirements - As we limit the number of people, you get to have some 1-2-1 tuition and the maximum benefit from a day with no distractions - Glazing & firing of your work - Certificate of completion - Please wear clothing clothes that you don't mind getting some clay on. We also offer accommodation in the form of our Crafter's Retreat cabin subject to availability or we can advise of other local B&Bs.
