Description
Weave Your Own Wall Hanging Workshop. "Weaving is the perfect hobby, when you start weaving any negative thoughts or anxieties are washed away, as you get into the flow!" You will learn the basics of weaving during a 3-hour workshop with Me, Siobhan the founder of Shiv Textiles, a Brighton-based sustainable textiles studio. Create your own wonderful woven wall hanging in this beginner's class. Working on a small handheld frame loom, you'll learn how to start and finish weaves, explore different fibres and craft a range of simple and effective techniques. All the uniques yarns you will use, are deadstock from British mills, making your creation fully sustainable! Using your hands to create something is super important even more so in this modern age when everyone is working on computers or are on their phones. Research shows that making things by hand is great for decreasing stress, relieving anxiety and improving mental health. Get inspired before the workshop. Customers will receive links to download their copy of my "Weaving for Beginners" Ebook. You can find this link in the thank you page of the checkout, along with an emailed link that will last for 30 days. All levels, abilities, and children over the ages of 10 are welcome.
