This HOW TO CLASS is aimed at the homeowner, who would like to build their home maintenance, repair, and home renovating skills. We try to tailor every class to the students attending and answer all questions. This may mean that we don't have time to cover everything in the list in depth. Content score (practical/info-theory): 2/5 COURSE CONTENT * Understanding different screw types and their uses. * Essential tools for the homeowner * Drill bit types and their uses * How to drill into plasterboard, wood, concrete, glass, tile and brick * Replacing a door (hanging the door, replacing hinges, installing door hardware * Repairing plasterboard (cracks, small and large holes) * Different fixings for securing TV's, pictures, cabinets etc. to walls * Electrical basics (How your consumer unit works, breakers, RCD's and mains isolator) * Removal and application of silicon sealants, different sealants and their uses * Caulking * How to deal with wet and dry rot, special undercoats and paints * Repairing overflowing toilets and leaking taps * Changing a tap * Basic tiling discussion and questions answered By booking this course, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. http://greatbritishwoodshop.co.uk/Activity-Risk-Waiver Course located in Surrey.
What's included in the price?
General information for your visit. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the class. Parking is available on the driveway. Please wear clothes suitable for dusty work, sensible shoes and your own lunch. There is a local shop nearby if you wish to buy lunch or you can bring a packed lunch with you. Tea and coffee is provided throughout the day. If you have some of your own tools and would like to learn how to use them properly, then you are welcome to bring them and use them on the course. We have a fully equipped workshop so there is no need to bring anything, but some students like to bring their own.
