Description
ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THIS RITE OF PASSAGE? The axe is a symbol of mankind's indomitable spirit and will to survive. One of our oldest and most versatile tools, we have used the axe to build homes, create fires, defend ourselves and take control of our environment for thousands of years. A well made axe will provide useful service to its master or mistress for decades. At Clarke Knives you will learn how to forge this noble instrument, and you'll discover a connection to the past as you hand craft your own axe. Whether you have forged a knife and you want to take your bladesmithing skills to another level...or you want to skip the knife and go straight through to experience the 'big one', this course is for you. It our most strenuous course though with a lot of heavy hammering. Not for the feint hearted!! For this reason participants must be at least 16 years old. Over two days, Clarke Knives Family Tutors will take you through the process of making a bearded axe. You don't need any previous experience and you'll be in safe hands as the tutors guide you safely through every step from the materials to the basic techniques, tools and hints, and when you have completed the course you will be the proud owner of your very own handmade axe.
