Description
You will have great fun on this axe making course. This is a more intensive course and will be hard work! We start the day at 9am with a hot drink and a chat about how the morning will work, and a small safety talk. We then get the forge lit, and we will be ready to start your project. The morning will last approximately 8 hours, in which time you will forge out your own axe from a piece of steel. Safety glasses, gloves and aprons are provided. Please wear steel toecaps if possible, or walking boots, jeans and long sleeve non-flammable top. It can get a little mucky. It can get noisy. Most of all it’s just great fun! Lunch not included. Hot and cold drinks provided throughout the morning. Shop within 1 mile of forge. Fridge and microwave available.

Maker
I discovered blacksmithing a little later in life and trained at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford. Before this, blacksmithing and metalwork was a hobby. I’m now a maker of things, one-of-a-kind builds and love crazy ideas. Over the last few years I’ve been lucky enough to work on a lot of amazing projects including castles, film props, sculptures, and one off unique art pieces. If it needs to be historically accurate or just a repair to your favourite old thing, I’m more than happy to help,
