Description
A fantastic workshop learning how to make personalised jewellery out of Art Clay Silver and lamp glass beads. Breaking for a light lunch in the middle. The day starts at 10 with lamp glass bead making breaking for lunch followed by art silver clay class finishing around 5. We will be working in a fully equipped studio, with all of the necessary safety equipment. All materials will be supplied for you to make a lovely selection of beads, and silver clay jewellery, During the glass class we cover many topics, including health and safety, bead making techniques, such as how to use different decorating methods, annealing and cold-working. You will be provided with safety glasses and aprons for your session, but it's best to wear old clothing, closed in shoes and make sure your hair is tied back if long. During the Art Clay Silver Class which is a fantastic man made material to work with, it's made from recycled silver, mixed with organic binders and moisture, it can be textured, shaped, cut and moulded like clay, then when it's fired, it reverts to become 99.9% fine silver again. This means that you don't need any prior jewellery making or silversmithing skills to enjoy this media and make beautiful, fine silver jewellery pieces! We learn how to prepare to make a piece of jewellery and how to texture, cut and shape your design. Students will also be taught how to torch fire their silver and how to polish it before taking their charms, pendants or earrings. This workshop is suitable for those aged 16+.
