Art & Design Teacher CPD Course - Laser Craft - One to One
Description
In this 1 day course, you will explore a variety of approaches in your chosen discipline. With more than 15 years of secondary teaching experience, I am confident that by the end of the day you will have enjoyed: - learning new processes/approaches - making something for yourself - making resources - having a chance to share ideas - leaving with everything you need to start teaching this tomorrow (including SoW and risk assessments) and a kit list You'll be addicted to lasering with just one workshop. The options and possibilities are mind blowing! You will spend the day designing and lasering your own pieces. We will explore a variety of materials and work in 2D and relief and even 3D too! You don't need any prior knowledge or experience as I will take you through every step. The absolute joy of lasering is that you can create quality, precision work from just an idea. The laser cutter does all the hard work for you! And this is why it is such a valuable tool for your students. Whatever their abilities they can produce a piece or product that they are proud of. The level of detail and intricacies that are possible mean complex, involved work can also be achieved for those that really exploit the techniques. The workshop involves learning to - use drawing software (CAD) to create designs - set up and send jobs to the Laser - experiment with different materials and thicknesses that can be lasered - post laser finishes and construction of any multi component pieces / 3D Just a warning ... there are so many possibilities with this process you wont want to stop, its a bit addictive! This workshop is a guaranteed one to one session so that I can tailor the workshop to your interests and needs as an individual. You can achieve so much this way. Develop skills to start a new business, take up a new hobby or craft for the joy of it … I can ensure the day progresses the way you want it to. A one-night self-catering stay is available for free with this booking in our onsite retro caravan (subject to availability). Please enquire. All courses, workshops and kits come with free support afterwards. Email me or arrange a video call. I love to see what my students and fellow crafters are up to and really enjoy answering questions or helping if I can. So any booking isn’t just for the day it’s the start of a crafting friendship! I do my very best to keep all my listings up to date with availability. Unfortunately, at busy periods there can be a delay so if there is a specific date you need, please feel free to check before booking to avoid disappointment.

After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I only take individual bookings so there will only be the people you choose to book for! This means I can make sure the workshop is exactly what individuals and groups want and everyone gets more out of it.
I normally start at 0930hrs but as I only take individual bookings I can be flexible with timings (subject to availability) to suit you.
No need to bring anything with you for your course or workshop unless you want to bring examples or inspiration ... but there are plenty of both here in the studio (surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire Hills) so you can just bring your lovely self!
There is a cute retro caravan that sleeps 1-2 people available onsite (The Old School Campsite) free of charge for 'one to one' bookings (subject to availability).
