Description
This satisfying book structure features a folded accordion spine and stitched signatures, with the option to incorporate pockets, tabs and textured pages. A great project that makes for a unique keepsake of a trip or event with the opportunity to weave in papers and mementos you have collected. This is a really lovely book full of texture and movement – join me as I weave together a collection of papery treasures from a recent trip to Helsinki to create this book, with lots of ideas for how you can use this book structure to do the same. This course is taught via a series of step-by-step video tutorials, accompanied by a downloadable document with links to recommended suppliers and advice on sourcing & prepping materials. In my video tutorials I make an A7 sized book with 5 signatures and cover how to scale up or down if you want to make the same book in a different size/shape. You will have continued access to my video tutorials via a password protected page on my website, which means you can revisit my videos for a reminder of the process whenever you need – I only ask that you please don’t share log in details with friends or third parties, doing so will result in you losing access. You will also have access to the private Bookbinding with Cass Facebook page where you can share your makes, ask questions and get ideas as you progress through the course. Should you have any questions along the way, Cass is just an email away and is happy to assist!

Hi I’m Cass – I love to make books and am passionate about making the craft of bookbinding fun and accessible! I'm particularly inspired by working with remnant materials - transforming what might otherwise end up in landfill, into unique and usable books. I run a lively programme of upcycled bookbinding and mark making workshops both in person and online, and love to collaborate with venues, artists from other disciplines and community organisations. I look forward to creating with you!
