Dates 25th September to 30th October A 6-week course focusing on the basic sewing techniques required to form a good basis from which to make a number of garments. Over the course of the six weeks you will learn and practice a number of techniques whilst making a dress for you to take home at the end of the course. Techniques covered are .. Week One Pattern reading and cutting. Transferring pattern markings and prepare pattern pieces ready for sewing. Week Two Constructing seams and seam finishing. Week 3 Inserting zip and fitting bodice. Week 4 Inserting sleeves Week 5 Create pockets and insert into the side seams. Week 6 Gathering and attaching skirt, finishing seams and hem skirt. Suitable for those who are familiar with threading a machine and changing stitch settings or have attended the Beginners machine sewing course. No previous dressmaking knowledge is required.
