Description
In this 2 day class, you will learn the basics of silversmithing! We will spend 5 hours a day covering the basics of soldering, filing, polishing, and more. The design of your pieces is essentially up to you and how much jewelry you will leave with! Silver isn't included in the cost, you will pay per gram for this. To give you an idea - a simple band costs about £5, a large stone set ring about £15 in silver (not including a stone), a pendant costs around £15 and small earrings cost around £15 in silver. This class is suitable for beginners and is an introduction to basic silversmithing techniques. We will break each stage down step by step throughout the class so you can leave wearing your new creation! I tutor up to 4 people in one session. More can be accommodated, but I will need to bring another teacher in - so only on request! This will take place in my studio in Penryn (near Falmouth), Cornwall. Please note, my studio is shared with a few other artists so there may be other people around while I'm teaching. Courses are 5 hours long (per day). Age Restrictions Classes are suitable for anyone over 16; for ages 14-16 they will need to be accompanied by an adult who is also booked into the class. Please click the 'message the tutor' button if you have any questions at all!
What's included in the price?

FAQs
Depends which course you are booking onto and how many people are attending. If you are the only person attending, most courses will be complete within 3 hours. For groups of 3 or more you are looking at 4/5 hours for most courses.
If you are going to get hungry over the course of the session I'd advise bringing a pack lunch. There is tea and coffee available at my studio, but there isn't many shops within walking distance.
There is indeed, there is usually parking directly out front but if this is unavailable There will be parking available within the yard.
