2- Day Abstract Painting Experience with Amy Huitson

X

Description

Join us for this unique painting experience where you will collaborate with and receive expert guidance from local professional artist Amy Huitson. This exclusive opportunity is limited to just 6 participants, allowing Amy to dedicate ample time to work closely with each budding artist to enhance and expand their creative skills. Across these two deliciously creative days, Amy will encourage you through a series of techniques and exercises that will really enhance your processes and ideas. You will experiment with different materials, layering, textures, colours, and mark making to really find your own style. For those who would like to work to a theme, Amy will go through her process on how to create an abstract landscape. Participants are free to work towards this theme but do not have to. Amy will be painting alongside you enabling her to share, first hand, the methods she uses in her own work. Both days will be very relaxed and informal as you give yourself permission to let go and to play with the materials and tools. Amy will have lots of inspiration and ideas to really unlock your creativity. We have deliberately created this opportunity across two days to give you loads of time to reflect on, and go back into your work time and again rather than create something very quickly! Amy will take you through all the materials and equipment you will be using, and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone to work with colour combinations, shapes, and marks you are drawn to intuitively. All of your materials will be provided – although you are welcome to bring anything which you feel you want to bring from home. This experience is suitable for absolute beginners (who have never even picked up a paint brush!) as well as those who have painted before. The sessions will be held at The Where Inspiration Bloom Pavilion in Penn Street, Amersham. The Pavilion is our new working space, situated opposite local landmark and traditional country pub – The Hit or Miss. We will be taking an hour's break for lunch on each day, during which time you are welcome to head across to the pub or bring a packed lunch with you and either sit outside the Pavilion taking in the stunning views of the field and woodland beyond, or head into neighbouring woods for a stroll to heighten the senses. It's entirely up to you, some people may prefer to keep painting. Hot drinks and delicious home made cake will be available throughout the day.
