Willow: Cutting, Growing, Grading, Sorting, Steaming and Soaking

Come to our field and home studio in the Surrey Hills for an introduction to growing, grading, sorting and soaking Willow. After a welcoming cuppa at the Woodland Studio, we walk a short distance down to our field to view the willow bed and do some cutting. At this point you will learn how we have grown the willow and you will select, cut and grade the willow. From these rods you will choose your own set to take home with you to make a living willow harlequin tree. (Tutorial and materials included, you just need some compost.) Moving on we then teach you how to store, select and soak the different types of willows for your projects. From baskets to Garden Plant supports, 3'-8' the art of having the right sized material and soaking it in preparation is key to the success of whatever you are creating.
