About the course Book a fun festive willow workshop for you and your friends and family in my studio, and make your own willow Christmas decorations. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, and will introduce you to a range of willow weaving techniques. We'll make a willow wreath base, which you can later decorate with foliage and hang from your front door. We'll also make a small Christmas tree decoration, along with a random weave five pointed star to decorate your Christmas tree. The maximum group size is four people. Children over 12 years old who are supervised by an accompanying adult are welcome to join. About the venue The workshop will take place in my studio at Maws Craft Centre in Jackfield, Shropshire. You'll get a chance to have a look around my workshop, including some of my stock items, commissions, work in progress, and my mini-library of weaving books. Maws Craft Centre is a bustling creative hub with lots of artist studios and gallery spaces, located down the river from Ironbridge. You can also explore further afield, and go for an evening walk along the River Severn and take in the spectacular views of the historic Ironbridge Gorge.
What's included in the price?
This course is suitable for beginners and over-12s. No previous experience is necessary. The group size is limited to 4. Smaller groups are welcome, but the booking price remains the same. All tools and materials are included. A glass of prosecco or non-alcoholic alternative, along with a mince pie will be provided.

Vine Willow Wood is the practice of Shropshire-based artist, Daisy Askins, who uses natural materials to make woven sculptures and baskets. Daisy has a collection available to purchase and hire, and can also make bespoke pieces by commission. She runs regular workshops in willow weaving and other nature-based crafts in Shropshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands
